I'm comfortable with 80 as an aussie breeder with several different blood lines, but I was born into and that's always been my way of life, for others well not so much they get flustered too easy. I got out June 10, 2015 Paints puppies were 7/8 weeks old at that time. Paint was bred to Tristan to be sure this time around on 2/8/16 I took pictures so I know without a doubt. It's 60-65 days until birth then the 7/8 weeks thereafter before I allow them be adopted. Depending on how they mature. Bigger litters in most cases take the full 8 maybe longer if I think necessary. It's my judgement call not the FDA's that matters here. No one needs to tell me that the FDA allows them to be adopted out at 5 weeks old. I know my dogs and I keep their best interests foremost in mind I don't generalize individuals and either should you.

Just arrived 3am June 1 2016 there looks to be 6 here. Can't be sure of color as to red, or blue just yet, I seen what appeared to be born blue merles turn red more than once just have to wait and see.
Dollar and Reba were bred 3 weeks ago this will be there last litter they will retire for good this year replaced by there off springs to carry forward there line. There all strong and healthy. Mom's doing grate she's had her calcium and vitamins. No compilations during birth, labor was just under 3 hours very little stress involved.
These two haven't been bred in over 4 years I will be keeping 4 from this breeding they will be red merles, blue merles with copper points, and maybe a red tri all will be big standards 65/ 75 lbs males. I'll not be able to register this litter due to the age factor there being pass the age of 6. I will have each aussie's from this litter registered independently so not to lose the entire blood line all together because of what those ass hats did here two years ago. That's if the breeding takes and it's doubtful due to age. Didn't take what a shame.going to lose one of the finest lines ever because of them damn people.
Below; Tristan the Grate has been the only tri capable of breeding with my merle females that is up until last month as the other line males have reached breeding age and have come on line. This is Allie she's been bred to Tristan for her first time She's two years and 4 months of age this breeding took place 5 weeks ago her litter is due the end of April. I will post them when they are born with the others. I'm expecting blue merles and black tri with those two.

My males got together an dug the den last night, It's rather nice. I've seen better ones that tunnel down about five feet to a room they carve out to the side they even account for drainage and rain run off the way they make them they're really good at it. I never seen one cave in but that's what worries me. There has been many times I had to crawl down in a den and get the puppies out from under ground. I can go to bed around 1 am with Allie inside the house, get up at daybreak and the den just appears. I can fill it back but the next morning when I wake up they will have made another one somewhere else. My aussie work together as a family in everything they do. Raising puppies is a team effort starting at 5 weeks of age. You'd have to see it to believe it. The love they have for family isn't anything I've seen with any other breed, or any other animal or even with most humans for that matter.

( AVMA ) Official Policy says Mandatory spay/neuter is a bad idea. Say that again. You only have to note the health problems associated with spay and neuter to see why that is. To its credit the AMVA straight talk policy statement; Potential health problems with spay/neutering have also been intensified including an increased risk of prostatic cancer in males increased risk of bone cancer and hip dysplasia in large breed dogs associated with sterilization before maturity. Any problems for dogs is really good for vets these problems are a few noted and caused by the removal of reproductive organs ( cancer, Incontinence, Dysplasia, ect. all equal to vet office and increase visits putting more money in vets pockets. There is also increased risks of obesity, diabetes, urinary tract infections and hypothyroidism. This all from scientific studies, there facts not conjecture. The JAVMA report enumerates even more health risks in spay and neuter of dogs. Known causes of Hip Dysplasia (CHD)
in male dogs Spay females likely to have CCLD cranial cruciate ligament deficiency. Spay and Neuter will shorten the dog's lifespan that's a scientific fact you're depriving them of their much needed hormones. Hormone deprived pets live much shorter lives and it is particularly devastating to puppies and juvenile dogs. Best get that into your thick heads right now. I did.
Look some common problems associated with spay and neutering are these; Noise sensitivity, Phobias, Fear based behavioral issues. Removal of vital sex hormones though ovariohysterectomy or orchiectomy on puppies is particularly egregious! Among male and female dogs with early age gonadectomy, hip dysplasia, noise phobias, sexual behavior disorders were increased and also linked separation anxiety, escaping behaviors, inappropriate urination when frighten. These are all due to early sterilization. These are not just some insignificant problems either.
Don't get a perfectly good aussies from here and F it all up then say well this dog has problems it just don't act right. Pees on the floor it don't like my boy friend. She humps the mail man. Were talking about shorter recovery time outpatient surgery, home the same day. Less stress on the puppy. Really it's just the best way. Do consider this option when you're thinking about sterilizing your next pet. I won't complain about doing that using this method. Just do educate yourself for the sake of your pets first. Scents Joey's dam "Cherry" is a recessive gene carrier causing her blue eye color Joey is the dominant carrier of that trait. If that trait passes as dominant as it should with this breeding the throws will be the best show quality and will be placed in competition and they will win best in show. How do I know this? Here's the answer; Phoenix is a red factored black tri with copper points. Her dam is Paint shown above with Tristan. All copper markings are a factor of red. With Joey that sorrel, or liver is a factor of red as well as him being a recessive gene carrier. I know just what I'm expecting before there bred together. Knowing full well that stealing any property over 500.00 is grand larceny & with guns it's armed robbery. They thought I'd be afraid of them and wouldn't stand up for my rights. They made a grave mistake. When I tried to obtain felony warrants on Shannon Stoke for impersonating a Dr.of veterinarian medicine in at the Hertford County Magistrates office three different times on three consecutive days they told assistant DA Kinsey and he told her and she fled to Ohio. They refused to allow me to get a warrant in spite of over whelming evidence of the crimes committed against me. Deigning me equal rights and protection under the law. This is all documented. I'm still going to get warrants on her and she will go to jail no matter where else she hides. With Joey that sorrel, or liver is a factor of red as well as him being a recessive gene carrier. I know just what I'm expecting before there bred together. You'll be able to see there litter when there born then again in about 5 months. I already mapped out the DNA for the pairs and then calculated the sum of the throws. Well that worked out better than I hoped. They beat me to the punch, got hooked even before I got them both in the pens. As I was writing this they played it out. They always seem to be one step ahead of me. That'll work. Conceived 2-9-16 LItter due April 8th-13th 2016. Don't think this breeding worked she doesn't seem to be carrying a litter unless it's just one in there, I seen that happen twice in the past. Guess I'll know soon enough. No didn't take.

Paint is showing her litter. She's getting a little bigger everyday should be 8 to 9 this time around. I absolutely love breeding my aussies I get so excited when it gets close to delivery times just to see what been created by the choices I made. I'm never disappointed in the outcome. I'm looking for a particular solid aussie with a particular recessive gene like the two I had before it can take many years to breed one and conditions have to be just right. Paint is Cherry's sister so there is a slight chance it can still happen. It would be almost pure luck if it did, but I'll take that. Either way they all will be beautiful aussie's. Joey is Cherry's throw ( her son ) He is a recessive carrier as well, but if his mate didn't take then there is no hope for one in that breeding. Maybe next year.

These are season pens constructed new ones in 2013, used just for safely breeding my lines. The cost 5000.00 including concrete slab 5 inches thick There is four 10 x 10 x 6 high with roofing. These kennels are all connected with a hall down the middle. All doors can be left open, which allows the pairs to use all four kennels anytime they wish. The housing inside these pens have floor heaters and keep the temperature at 105 degrees which is the normal temp of a dog. Also there's electric lights, water lines, float tanks everything needed plus extras including Industrial fans for hot days, baby pools ect ect. There are two more kennels shown below 16 x 8 x 4 high with A framed roofing these have 5 inches of gravel beneath them for drainage. Running water, electric floor heaters in the housing Industrial fans ect. ect. Cost was 3000.00. These I use to allow the puppys 5 weeks and older to play safely outside in on nice days. There's plenty of out side housing all electric with floor heaters, running water connected to float tanks that never run dry. All my aussie's have free range they can come in side when ever they want.
There is two full acres fence in 5' high around the entire area. The creek we swim in which is enclosed within the area as well. The 2nd acre is all wooded with a 20' x 3' X 5 high walk bridge that crosses the water. On warm days we jump off of into the water. This is all shaded and the water is always cold. There is pictures of that and everything else on the pages of this web site. I been breeding my lines in Hertford County 20 years now. Never had one complaint filed with animal control from anybody concerning me, or my aussie's. That is a matter of record and my lawyers have checked.

I Give fenbendazole 3 days in a row by weight 1 cc/ml per 25 lbs of her weight. If you have a room place a whelping box ( build your own) keep blankets sheets and towels near by. Get an approved heating pad with a regulator keep it at 105 degrees newborns can't regulate there body temperature. Place it under the blanket after the birth and you cleaned up all wet material. Also keep in mind that they can neither see, or hear for 9 the first days. Hours before the birth give the female capstar or nitenpyram if you detected any fleas. How to tell the day of birth is easy just take her temperature it will rise to about 1o7-108. She'll not be hungry either. During the birthing give her Oral Cal Plus. That will replace the calcium she needs during birthing which stems off calcium crash before it can start. The first two weeks are easy nothing you have to do, but change bedding. Do Not Use Bleach on anything you intend to use for the puppies not even in the same room with them. That will cause what is known as drop. Don't cause problems for your self. Ok so relax while you can. At the end of the 3rd week I deworm the puppies with fenbendazole trade named SafeGuard. 0.3 ml to be safe. Mother gets 1 ml per 25 lbs of her weight. 50 pounds she gets 2 ml. If you want a really healthy female to be able to feed her babies better as well as for her to recover faster with little weight loss feed her chicken rice peas and carrots twice a day from two weeks before birth and continue though the entire whelping period 5 weeks at best. I do my mother's longer up to 8 weeks. Then at the 5th week I take the food I'm feeding mother and run it in a blender add 1/4 tea spoon of Prozyme per cup of food and pour that in to a puppy feeding dish. Prozyme is an enzyme that helps in digestion which keeps there bellies insides from becoming twisted called torsion also keep GasX around the house because this can happen to any dog at any time it's caused from gulping food for the most part to much air and Gas builds up. If you see them start to bloat and act like something's wrong give GasX to them right away and get them to someone that knows how to deal with it.
The puppy feeding dish has the center raised and about the size of a 15 inch round hub cap which keeps the food to the edges of the dish so they don't walk in there food. You don't want to overfeed them so watch what you're doing. You should be able to tell the amount by now by watching their mother feed them and how their bellies look afterwards. Underfeeding is better than overfeeding by far, besides they will continue to feed on mom as well for another two weeks or three weeks so your be able to notice what their needs are by then. Planning 3/4 separate inline bred females all due to go in season around the same time and then to breed them within a few days of each other. That takes knowledge and planning required over time. That is the safest way ensures life of lines should something catastrophic happen. Every female I have that's able to feed any puppy will. The only way to fend off this behavior is to pair your mates ahead of time. Know which male to breed to which female. Then doing so in a safe place away from all other males. True experienced Alfa breeding male will stay with their mate for a week at best losing interest thereafter as long as the female is in a secure location and the male knows there is no chance another male can get to her otherwise he'll stay near to be able guard his seed. The desire to carry on their DNA is the foremost reason of there life they will pass up food and all else. Once that has been completed, their seed has taken root. Once satisfied that is done there looking for other females to breed with. This is a fact of life. All life depends on it within the animal kingdom. It's said that the strongest survive.
