  • Australian Shepherds with tails Born July 1, 2016

Three days ago on the 17th of Nov. 2015 it was Tuesday morning. I heard a dog back on the other side of the swamp behind my house yelling. Nothing unusual about it really there is 3 hounds, and the mother hound that lives in back there somewhere, there known as feral dogs.  I have two of the same female littermates I fetched up out of the swamp over 4 months ago. They're here with me now too.  I got them out when they were about 9 weeks old. They gave me a run for my money trying to catch them too. On Wednesday I heard the same yelling, and it sounded like it was coming from the same spot back there. I just thought they took down a deer, or something. The next day, Thursday I heard it again. It was raining pretty hard all day and it was coming from the same spot back there as before, but this sounded weaker, distressed. I knew then there was trouble. The time was 630 pm. It was just to dark to go back in there. So I yelled to the dog that I was coming back there at first light to help. After that no more noise came from the swamp.

I geared up that night, medkit, dog food, fresh water, cutting tools ect ect. I had a hard time sleeping just knowing that there was a dog back there in distress really bothered me. I left out of here at daybreak. I crossed the swamp. It was rather deep from all the rain and very very cold. Below in living color is what I found. The first thing I did was water him and feed him. I noticed right away there is no dung on the ground, but what you can't see is there is no urine either. He's been back there stuck to that tree 4 days that I'm 100% sure of, maybe even longer than that. I dropped my gear took off my hat and approached him. He was apprehensive at first until I placed the water down and placed the food beside it, then I backed off. I snapped these pictures while he ate. I wanted a record of this in case some asshat would say I took someone's dog. Looks to me he broke loose and ran off dragging a 15 foot cable attach to a short chain which was bolted around his neck. The discolored neck tells me he's been bolted to that chain like that and tied out for a hellof a long time. I'm not back here to judge the sorry son of a bitch that's caused this strive to this wonderful dog. Oh no. I'm just here soaking wet and freezing my ass off in these freaking dark ass woods because I care.

He's here at home with me and he's fine. He won't ever be going back to the life that he had before. I cut off his chain forever. His name hence forth is now Chain.

He's just a little over a year old by about 3/4 months if that. Needs some training because he's never had any. I already started working with him. He's eager to learn which makes it easier.

12-14-2015 Just about a month scents I found him chained to a tree. Now he sports a smile every day. He has no fear of anything any more. He'll will look strait in to my eyes and show me who he really is.. He's a grate dog, my bud for life Chain. He never asked nor will he ever need a dime from any one to be happy health and wise. The same go's for all my dogs. All you private corporations SPCA's, PETA, PAWS and any of the fake rescues working for your self's take notice you SOB's. I'M BACK with a vengeance.

Chain & Daisey have a daughter named Dustie now She's shown below. His life is full with a family of his own, and more friends than anyone I know. Every dog truly deserves what he has.

Les never came back for Daisy and I have to say I am glad it turn't out the way it did. Daisy is a wonderful mother. Dustie hangs right tight with her mom they go everywhere together. Daisey is fulfilled in life.

This little fella I named Shadow he's a border collie he was spotted running with his mom and two siblings a few months ago back in the swamp. He ended up getting separated from them and was lost on his own. Two kids found him wandering around hungry and very underweight and brought him to me. He's now a part of my family. Has gotten all his shots his weight is back where it should be and he's happy. He will remain with me for the rest of his life. Just as the every dog that God places in my care dose. He'll be afforded everything in life to make it complete just as every dog deserves to be well loved. I'll find a female border collie for him in under a year, and he'll breed when the time comes. He'll have his own family one day and live a full happy life.

It's been three months scents I found Chain. He needs no more training.

CHAIN GOT HITCHED TO A LOVELY BLACK LAB NAMED DAISY. HIS LIFE IS NOW COMPLETE, OR SO HE THINKS, BUT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE GOOD THINGS COMING HIS WAY IN THE DAYS AHEAD. That's a smile I can live with. Daisy belongs to Les Evens of Va. Beach Va. She's going to have her litter here the plan was to keep one of my choice for Chain, a female but of course. Les will come get Daisy after the litter has been adopted. Sort of a bummer I grown rather fond of her so have the aussie's. Well I guess there is something to be said for helping out others from time to time. That's not the only reason I did it. Truth be told it's more for these two Labs then anything. I love it when there happy and well loved. I just have a real understanding of dogs guess you do too because your here.

Picture
Picture
Those two sister labs above Chains pictures were found at about there 9th /10th week of life in the swamp across the front side of our home back in the beginning of July. There were 5 pups in total that were born back in them woods. I seen the mother when she was pregnant. Apparently someone had just dump her off as unwanted. I tried to get her to come to me. No way that I could even get within 100 yards of her she'd just run off. Even after she had the litter I looked for them with no luck. I seen her from time to time crossing the road going back in to the swamp. One day she went back there and two pups followed her. She came out, but the two pups did not. It took me almost three weeks to get them two pups out of there. I got chewed up with puppy teeth pretty good. But today there here at home happy healthy and wise. There shots are all done and well loved by all my aussie's as well as myself. The blond one loves to dig for oil and gold, or maybe it's just grubs. I figure she learn't from her mom. I'm sure she lived on them back in the swamp for some time, so she'll continue to dig like this for however long she wants too.  Just as well that she picked up a working skill like Landscaping.

These two sister God gave me to care for are 6/7 months old now. They think there aussie's I'm not going to tell them differently. There mine for life too. I continued to try to get the other pups and the mother hound, but never had any luck. The last time I seen the mother was the day I found Chain. They cut through the backwoods headed for parts unknown. I have never seen her or two of the siblings alive again . However I see one remaining from her litter every few days. I don't know the sex, but it looks just like the mother just younger. I hate to think what has happened to mom and the other two siblings of these girls. I still have had no luck in catching the last remaining sibling. I won't give up on it. I still put food out at the edge of the woods when I see the dogs around. Maybe one day if it wants it'll come to me and have a home. If it don't well in that case I guess dogs been living in the wild scents before any of us were born I just hope it lives a full happy life as a free spirit. Besides it's not really up to me what God gives me he gives me. If someone thinks they can take that away from me then it's there asses on the hook. As you can see from what has been happening to the people that did that once all ready.

This picture the man came out got a bb rifle and took some shots at them. I don't know if any were hit. There not mean they don't pose any danger towards people they don't go near any one. I guess not with people taking shots at them every chance they get they learn to fear. People are cruel as hell due to ignorance. A little compassion and a dash of some common scents can really make a difference.

These are feral dogs the 3rd from the left is the sibling to the two hounds puppies that I found in the woods back in July 2015

Picture above. The big black Lab 1st dog on the left is the sire to the two lab hounds that are here. His daughter also includes that black and tan 3rd from the left. Take notice of how healthy this pack looks.

Picture
One would think that with these rescue groups around here that they would be interested in helping these dogs instead of stealing peoples pets. But there not, because there's no money in that. They have had no shots no de-wormings nothing was ever done for them. They couldn't just sell them with out fixing them up to look and act like people think dogs should act. I mean what we call social skills these dogs really lack in that department. BUT then again who in the hell are we to force are way in to their lives anyway? Would you sit down with a lion and commence to tell it how you think it should act? Would you sit in the water with an alligator and give it a hug? A wild thing is just that be it a dog a cat or a lion because your bigger then they are what gives you or me the right to force your way on such an animal any way? In the Spring and summer they get covered in mange mites and ticks bites, fleas some may die, others breed with the females in the pack they have litters in holes in the ground they might flood out killing the puppies sometimes they make it. Some times I fine one or two and steal them away raising them myself.

But the question remains dose that make it right? Honestly' no I don't think so  ( stealing is stealing ) or, maybe somehow it makes me a better person for doing so? No' I think not. Maybe I do it for self purpose it gives me some scents of worth.  It's in part to pay back to the animals what man has done against them. What you ask? Like using them for scientific research in labs. Putting them in a rocket and shooting them in to outer space knowing they will burn up. It's been done. Oh God what else there's so much, I don't know, how about for strapping bombs to them and teaching them to run under tanks then exploding them. Yep that's been done. For what PETA has done against animals. Well If for no other reasons just because we think that they need to be locked up in shelters protected from the big bad world out side. But my answer to why I feel like I need to feel this self worth inside? It's because when they took my dogs as they did I couldn't protect them don't you realize they were my family, as well as my liveing. I couldn't protect them from those people. I let them down I seen it in there faces that day. I let myself down, because I should have made them bastards shoot me. I was worthless. After all any one of my aussies would have given there life for mine. Do you understand that? It's because this County of Hertford in the State of NC. has taken pretty much everything else from me. Getting back to these feral dogs. Just by watching these dogs living life as they do, and it's not so much different then deer herds and by the way, you know they seem to do ok for themselves. Natural selection and survival skills seem to keep the herd managed pretty well. After all dogs have been on this earth as long as man, who knows maybe longer, so I'm not surprised. I'm not crazy I'm just passionate so they tell me. The answers to what's best for them, or what's right isn't a question that any man has the right to answer. That is not your call or mine. I hope this helps the person I intended to. Thanks.

Scents I posted this on  1/23/16 three days ago 2/3/16 animal control came out here and has captured the black and tan hound lab mix in a trap she was taken to PAWS Inc. I asked if I could have her didn't get a direct answer. I told them if they couldn't fine a home for her I be happy to give her one here with her two sisters. Someone please go get that dog asap I'll pay the cost for you. She'll have a wonderful temperament, and with a little handling she'll be a wonderful companion.
