SOMETHINGS IN THE WATER MAKING ANIMALS SICK, SOME ARE DEAD SOME DYING.
Went to take the dogs swimming the other day it was in the 90s typical day in June. I always walk the creek before letting my aussie's back there. I noticed in about the last month scents about May I haven't seen any water moccasins, beavers, ducks, egrets, turtles, not one dove, or any birds near the water, no bees and I always seen them collecting whatever they collect by the water edge. Very odd. Every year I see all those critters back here all most every day. There just nothing but water. No tracks of any kind near the water, either in the fenced area, or outside the area. I came across a dead turtle, which looked like it was dissolving, melting flesh, head feet tail all about gone. Umm this isn't good. We been in the water yesterday the day before that, and many more before that right up to this point. I didn't think nothing was wrong, didn't give a whole lot of thought to not seeing other creatures back there until I found that dead turtle. Damn It! Something is wrong with the water and there isn't any doubt in my mind. Two dogs are showing signs of something wrong with them so there quarantined for the time being. I can take care of this myself. I started treating them two days ago they are responding to treatment. So their chances are real good for a full recovery. If I need a vet I'll go to mind. As of 7/8/16 their back to normal the rains have flushed whatever it was out.
I started dismissing what it isn't. Animal waste runoff as well as human waste causes high levels of nitrogen in the water. Also there will be signs of it downstream as in certain plants will bloom orange and red and clumps of certain types of grasses will be growing where they weren't before. There's none of that back there. No symptoms showing of that anyway. Heavy metals in the water will leave colored stains on a coffee filter while seining the creek bottom Iron, copper nickel in the water all have odor and most will have a hit of a taste to it. Will show up in their urine as a oder too. Not that either. Other things can show up in a ph test no signs of any of that. Ok maybe residue from chemicals used in crop pesticides, over spray run off or just dumped upstream? Could be ...So now I'm left with two of the most probable causes. The second is far worse to consider, however they both can kill ya pretty damn dead. One just can do it a lot faster than the other and spread like fire. " Bacterial " I decided to send off a dozen water samples to National Testing Laboratories in Cleveland, Ohio and I'm testing for every Bacteria and many different farm used chemicals, roundup and all it's wonderful ingredients included as well as nitrogen content. Guess I'll soon find out what's what with this water. I took 12 samples a mile apart 12 miles upstream. I'll go farther upstream if needed. After that it's going to be what, or who caused it and be sure I will track it back to the source. If it was done intentionally don't for a minute think I won't find out by whom. Still waiting on information on test completed should come in as email any day. What's in the water turns out to be what's not in the water mostly, oxygen was missing to much nitrogen things used in mining, or mixing, poly methyl methacrylate phenol formaldehyde in any case it's not something naturally found in water someone had to put it there. The rest was iron and other natural minerals you'd expect to see for the most part.
Well this is a good sign a cottonmouth hanging around found it about a hour ago 3:00 down at the creek first one this year he died just after this picture. Don't want my aussie's getting bit, or me either for that matter. Also seen frogs and some fish. I guess those thunderstorms flushes it out well enough. Water looks a lot better now. Still haven't got back the results of the water test's. Guess I got ripped again..
